There I was driving home to Amston Lake from the Bolton Ice Rink on Rt 316, when a very beautiful Bobcat strolled across the road in front of me!! My first live Bobcat adventure, though seemed smaller than other folks posts. More like small dog sized... This happened at 6:30pm ET just a short distance from RHAM High School complex. I pulled over and put hazards on to get out and take a photo, but by the time I did the Bobcat had disappeared behind those big wild cabbages in the marsh.

I saw 3 bobcats in the road in front of my home Bristol. We live on the Bristol/Burlington line. They were slowly but deliberately making there way up the street at around 5:30 in the evening. Got a couple of lame pics on my phone. That is the first time I've seen them in this area and I've been in this home since 2000. Wow!

I saw what at first I thought was a boxer. It was 4:30 am. I was out having a cup of coffee with my 14 lb. cat. She was making her rounds in front of the house when I saw movement, it was about 20 yds. away. It was quite graceful in it's movement but I also feared that my Orange tabby might be breakfast! I yelled at it but it didn't miss so much as a beat in it's cadence. Lovely and terrirfying at the same time.

Saw a good sized bobcat in my backyard in Farmington... 7:45am. He walked casually through trees and shrubs, spotted a neighbor's bird feeder thick with birds and squirrels. He made a sneaky approach and then pounced but came up empty.

Surprised he visited here, We are in a neighborhood of 80 homes on half-acre lots. He had to pass through 20+ yards to get to us.

Responding to Linda says:

January 19th, 2012 at 9:30 am, You did indeed see a bobcat on the 19th, he ended up in my backyard under our deck on the sameday later in the afternoon. He left and I didn't see him again until Sunday afternoon close to the dusk hour. Early in the afternoon on Monday 1/23/12 he returned to our yard and entered the open space next to us. We did manage this time to get both video (very brief) and pictures of him. We are waiting to see if he returns again in the next couple of days, the habitat around here is exactly what bobcats enjoy.....so who knows
:) He is just beautiful!

Think I saw a Bobcat this morning on my way in to work on East Street in Southington. It was sitting on the edge of the road and as I approached it went into the woods. But I stopped and it stayed looking at me just inside the woods. Not sure if that is what is was because it looked somewhat smaller than those pictured here (but bigger than a house cat), and more grey in color. But it definitely had that stubby little tail with almost a stripped look being darker at the end. Could this have been something else I saw?

6:40am, 09/23/2011, I think I saw one in Windsor crossing River Street as I was driving to work. It ran across the road about one hundred feet in front of me. I thought "Hey, a cat. Wait, that cat was the size of a dog. No, it was definitely a cat with a short, stubby, bushy-like tail."
